Distribution Dilemmas: Retirement Plan Hardships and Loans

Most 401(k) retirement plans permit participants to take plan loans and hardship distributions. These distribution options can be lifesavers for participants, but can result in administrative errors and burdens on plan administrators.  This session will describe the requirements of plan loans and hardships, including the recent final regulations on hardship distributions, as well as common errors with these distributions and how to correct them.

    2020 Economic Outlook

Sean will be discussing the 2020 Outlook from Wells Fargo Investment Institute.  He will outline leading economic indicators and what they say about where we are in the cycle.  Sean will explore how these may continue or change trend in an election year with many uncertainties.  There are questions beyond the election itself including issues related to trade policy on many different fronts, as well as monetary policy both in the U.S. and from central banks abroad.  The U.S. consumer has been able to power domestic economic growth despite these issues that have weighed more heavily on business sentiment and investment.  How far can the consumer carry this expansion if other progress is not made, especially as confidence, job and wage growth have begun to show signs of fatigue?  Sean will address these topics including what should be done to prepare investment portfolios for such an environment.
