Alternative Assets Held Within Qualified Plans

Over the past decade, alternative investments have become increasingly popular as more and more Americans desire increased control over their retirement savings.  In many instances, the attributes of directing retirement plan holdings into non-traditional private assets are clear -- greater ROI potential, reduced volatility, added diversification and non-correlation to stock market conditions.

Attendees of this unique educational event will gain a comprehensive overview of:

    • The rules and guidelines governing the use of non-standard assets within qualified plans
    • Disallowable investments and prohibited transactions/self-dealing risks within retirement plans
    • Transactions subject to Unrelated Business and Debt Finance Income Tax (UBIT and UDFI)

Best practices on how to properly communicate to clients interested in investing into private investments with the qualified plans and how best to serve them.
